Community Guidelines
Last updated: July 15, 2026
Effective: July 15, 2026. These Community Guidelines govern the Moment community, operated by OTM App LLC (DBA "Own the Moment"). They apply alongside our Terms of Service, EULA, and Privacy Policy. By posting, commenting, or otherwise participating in the community, you agree to follow them. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
A moderated, adults-only support space
The community is a moderated, recovery-supportspace for adults — not an open social feed. Be supportive; protect each other’s safety and privacy. You must be at least 18 years old to use the community, subject to the same age policy as the rest of Moment.
Not medical care or a crisis service
The community is peer support, not professional help. It is not medical care, therapy, diagnosis, or an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger or crisis, contact local emergency services — in the United States, call or text 988 or call 911. Reporting a post does not summon emergency help.
Not allowed
The following are prohibited and will be removed:
- bullying or harassment;
- grooming, predatory solicitation, or any sexual content involving minors;
- exploitative, coercive, or graphic sexual content;
- doxxing or sharing others’ personal information;
- threats or incitement of violence;
- content encouraging self-harm or relapse;
- shaming others, or instructions that undermine recovery;
- attempts to move people off-platform unsafely;
- spam, scams, or illegal content.
Honest, first-person disclosure of struggle, relapse, or shame is welcome — that is the point of the community. Disclosure that signals self-harm intent is routed to safety resources, not treated as a violation.
How moderation works
Content may be screened before and afterposting — automated detection runs on every post and comment, with human review for escalations and appeals. Actions range from warnings to content removal, posting restrictions, suspension, or permanent bans. High-risk categories (self-harm, grooming, exploitation, child sexual abuse material, threats) are escalated through a defined safety and legal pathway; apparent child sexual abuse material is preserved and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as required by law. Automated blocking and reporting operate continuously; we do not represent around-the-clock human moderation.
Reporting, blocking, and privacy
You can report content and blockother users from within the app. Do not share identifying details about yourself or others, and treat others’ disclosures as confidential.
Enforcement, appeals, and response times
We may take action to protect the community, up to and including permanent removal. If your content is removed, you may appeal once from within the app; a different moderator than the one who removed it reviews the appeal (separation of duties). Our target response times are:
- Crisis / imminent-risk items: within 1 hour for human follow-up (automated detection and resource surfacing are immediate and continuous);
- Reports of harmful content: within 24 hours;
- Held content awaiting review: within 48 hours (held content is not public meanwhile);
- Appeals: within 72 hours.
